MatchPoint Squash lets you score individual squash matches with full game tracking, serve indicators, and timed games.

Setting Up a Match

1. Go to Match Setup from the sidebar
2. Choose Singles or Doubles match type
3. Select the match format: Best of 3 or Best of 5
4. Pick the scoring system (PAR-11 or PAR-15)
5. Enter player names and select who serves first
6. Tap Start Match to begin

During the Match

• Tap the + button under a player's score to award a point
• The serve indicator updates automatically based on scoring rules
• The serve box (left/right) toggles as required by squash rules
• Use the game timer to track each game's duration
• At game end, a break timer appears before the next game
• Tap − to undo a point if a mistake was made
• A 4-minute warmup timer runs before the first game — skip when players are ready
• A 90-second break timer appears between games as per squash rules — skip when ready

Local Tournaments

• Run entirely on a single device — no internet required
• All tournament data stays on this device
• Ideal for small club events with one scoring device

Synced Tournaments (Online)

• Real-time synchronization across multiple devices and courts
• Requires a club login (set up via the tournament screen)
• Other devices join using a 6-character tournament code
• Live score updates visible on all connected devices

Log in with your club credentials in the Tournament screen to unlock all online features including real-time sync and cross-device scoring.

Tournament Lobby (Online Only)

Online tournaments start in a lobby state — player registration is open and the bracket has not been generated yet.

As admin you can:

• Set the scheduled date and time for the event
• Add or remove players and change the bracket format, courts, and match settings
• Click Save Changes to instantly sync all edits to connected devices
• Click Start Tournament (requires double confirmation) to generate the bracket and launch the event

Players joining the lobby can see:

• The scheduled date, time, and bracket format
• The participant list as the admin adds players in real time
• All devices automatically move to the live scoring screen the moment the admin starts the tournament

Bracket Formats

• Single Elimination — lose once and you're out
• Round Robin — every player plays every other player
• Group Phase + Playoffs — group round-robin followed by knockout rounds
• Double Elimination — two losses to be eliminated; losers get a second chance
• Full Placement — every player gets a final ranking; losers drop to consolation brackets
• Team Tournament — enable the Team Tournament toggle to have teams compete; each team match has 4 individual matches. Can be combined with any bracket format

Team tournaments let squash teams compete against each other in a round-robin format. Each team match consists of 4 individual matches between the teams' players.

Setting Up a Team Tournament

1. Create a tournament and open the lobby
2. Select Team (Mannschaft) as the bracket format
3. Add teams (minimum 2) and name each team
4. Add players to each team's roster
5. Match format is automatically set to Best of 5 / PAR-11
6. Click Start Tournament to generate the round-robin schedule

Lineup Editor

• Before each team match, the admin sets the playing order (lineup) for both teams
• Assign players from each team to the 4 match slots
• Players from other teams can also be selected if needed
• Each player can only appear once per lineup
• Individual matches are locked until the lineup is confirmed

Scoring & Walkovers

• Individual matches are scored the same way as any other tournament match
• When all 4 individual matches are complete, the team match result is automatically calculated
• The admin can declare a walkover if a team cannot play — all matches are auto-scored

Team Dashboard

• Team Matches — color-coded cards showing team scores and individual match progress
• All Matches — standard view of every individual match
• Cross Table & Standings — shown in the Spielbaum (bracket) view

Popup Views

• Team Overview — opens a separate window with the cross table and standings (auto-refreshes every 2 seconds)
• Match List — opens a separate window with all individual matches grouped by team match (auto-refreshes every 2 seconds)

Match Types

• Singles — standard 1v1 squash match
• Doubles — 2v2 team match

Match Formats

• Best of 3 — first player to win 2 games wins the match
• Best of 5 — first player to win 3 games wins the match

Scoring Systems

• PAR-11 — point-a-rally scoring to 11 points (must win by 2 after 10-10)
• PAR-15 — point-a-rally scoring to 15 points (must win by 2 after 14-14)

Tournament administrators have full control over the tournament, including bracket management and match scheduling.

Admin PIN

• Set during tournament creation to protect admin functions
• Required to advance rounds, cancel tournaments, or manage brackets
• Share with trusted court managers who need admin access

Admin Capabilities

• Start and stop matches on any court
• Advance rounds when all matches are complete
• Assign matches to specific courts via the Schedule tab
• View and manage all connected devices
• Cancel the entire tournament if needed

Court Client Mode

• Assign a device to a specific court from the Courts tab
• The device locks to that court and only shows assigned matches
• Admins can unlink devices remotely from the admin panel

Schedule & Timetable

• Use the Schedule tab to drag and drop matches onto court time slots
• Use Auto-Schedule to automatically assign times for all unscheduled matches
• Open the Timetable popup for a printable overview of the full schedule

Track player performance across all matches played on this device.

• View win rates, match and game statistics for each player
• Visual pie charts show matches won/lost, games, and points
• Detailed breakdown of total points scored vs. conceded
• Match history per player with individual game scores
• Statistics are calculated from locally stored match data
• Tournament matches are excluded from local stats — they are tracked separately via online sync
• When connected, switch to the Official ★ tab to view cross-tournament player statistics

Global Player Stats (Online)

• The tournament hub shows a global leaderboard of all players who have competed in online tournaments
• Stats include SQR rating, matches played, win rate, games W/L, and points W/L — updated automatically after each tournament match
• The leaderboard shows up to 100 players, sorted by SQR rating
• Each player has a Squash Rating (SQR) powered by Glicko-2. New players start at 1500 with high uncertainty (±350). The rating and uncertainty update after every match — winning against stronger opponents earns more.
• The tournament Player Stats tab shows per-player stats for all players in the current tournament

Head-to-Head Comparison

• Select two players to compare their head-to-head record across tournament matches
• View match history and win/loss records between any two players

All completed matches are saved and accessible from the History section.

• Review scores and results of past matches
• See game-by-game breakdown for each match
• Use the point-by-point replay to analyze key moments
• Match data is stored locally on your device

MatchPoint Squash includes tools for recording referee calls and tracking rally durations during matches.

Referee Decisions

• Record Lets, Strokes, and Conduct warnings for each player during a game
• Stroke decisions automatically award the point to the correct player
• A running count of decisions is displayed on the scoreboard during the match
• A full summary of all referee decisions is shown on the match results screen

Rally Length Tracking

• Enable rally tracking to record the duration of each rally in seconds
• View statistics including average, median, shortest, and longest rally times
• A distribution chart groups rallies by time bracket (0–5 s, 6–10 s, 11–20 s, 21–30 s, 30 s+)
• Rally data is saved with the match and can be reviewed in the match history
